Speak No More of This

by Artifiseer x I Divorced Life

Levrikon In two tracks and six minutes, Artifiseer and I Divorced Life do a psychedelic form of techno/dance music better than a hundred acid house bands from the early '90s. Pulsing beats, swirling shards of melody, and gorgeous vocals combine to make this something special. Favorite track: Unlike a Boulder.

Forbidden, Unbidden and shamed, Silent moth to the flame, And I know, too well These arms will serve me no more... Bound, can I find, How to live, How to die? Speak no more of this! Speak in a broken tongue, Forbidden, Repentant, I know all-too-well, The darkness will spill forth, Washing over all... Bound, can I find, How to live, how to die? Speak no more of this!

His mortality is overwhelmingly unbearable A pearl necklace of misfortunes Stringed together by some void Thirteen minutes A fleeting moment of Location Unknown Because she's too busy bleeding all over a sidewalk Reduced to Colorless Mannequin of Shame Decluttering is a mighty undertaking Where should I put all this junk if not here? You asked mistakenly Unlike a boulder A saw-toothed shattering You are confused and unreliable I can only really see you When you are a mirrored reflection Pledge your unthinking allegiance To everything that every went awry

Assembled across oceans via the internet, “Speak No More of This” sees Saint John, NB-based Artifiseer and Hamburg, Germany-based I Divorced Life each putting forth a bold new song.

Artifiseer’s “Geasan” (pronounced gesh-en) starts off with a creeping, groaning bass build as psychedelic effects swirl around a commanding vocal, leading to a pounding, kinetic beat before giving way to I Divorced Life’s “Unlike a Boulder”, where a crunchy array of sparkling synths, noisy electronics and distorted drums serve as the backdrop for a surreal and eerie scene, told with an expressive & fluid croon.
